George Louis of Brunswick-Lüneburg was the son of Ernest Augustus, elector of Hanover, and Sophia of the Palatinate, a granddaughter of King James I of England. George married his cousin Sophia.

The Welfenmausoleum in the Berggarten of Hannover, opposite the Herrenhausen Palace, used to be open in the past. But who would like to visit it now, will hear it is not open.
