She retired to a convent in Amesbury, where she died in 1291 at the age of around 68. Eleanor de Montfort, meanwhile, was left a widow and an exile after her husband‘s death.

Hace 6 días · Henry, Lord Clifford (fn. n2), was created Earl of Cumberland in 1525. The title became extinct by the death of Henry, the fifth Earl, in 1643. The following year King Charles created his cousin, Prince Rupert, Duke of Cumberland; the title became extinct at his death, in 1682.

She was born on 07 Jul 1560 "in her father's house in Exeter", just 2 years before the premature death of her mother, the Duchess of Bedford, in Aug 1562 during the Smallpox pandemic that ravished England that summer.
