Hace 3 días · When I saw that the University of Washington Drama folks were doing Elmer Rice’s The Adding Machine, I thought that it would offer a window into how Seattle theaters are dealing with the reality of technology that disrupts their own civic culture as well as individual lives.

She made minor alterations to the theater but generally found it in "good condition". Rice had two productions, Judgment Day (1934) and Between Two Worlds (1934), both of which were flops.

Hace 4 días · Un regrettable malentendu. « Opéra » ? « Comédie musicale dramatique » ? « Broadway opera » ? « Dramatic musical » ? Kurt Weill a longuement hésité avant de qualifier Street Scene d’« american opera ». Cette incertitude quant à la nature de ce qui est selon nous le chef-d’œuvre scénique du compositeur allemand, n’est pas étrangère à son destin.
