Hace 4 días · In 1896, Freud referred Emma to Fliess, who promptly removed one of the turbinate bones in her nose. He deemed the surgery a success. Her sexual anxieties, exhaustion and heavy periods would disappear he confidently predicted. By changing her body the inner identity she was meant to have would materialise. Then the haemorrhages began.
