Hace 2 días · Alfred the Great (also spelled Ælfred; c.849 – 26 October 899) was King of the West Saxons from 871 to 886, and King of the Anglo-Saxons from 886 until his death in 899. He was the youngest son of King Æthelwulf and his first wife Osburh, who both died when Alfred was young.

In 1603, Father Augustine Bradshaw reconciled to the Benedictine order 'one Lyttleton, who had formerly been a monk of Evesham, and was now best known by the nickname of 'parson-tinker.'.

3 de may. de 2024 · Ethelweard was supposed to be a pleasant scramble from the east and a step in the ridge was to be avoided by using south facing gullies. We must have taken the wrong gully as we ended up within 100' of the summit with a 30' rock wall separating us.
