1 de may. de 2024 · The Godolphin Arabian: Also known as the Godolphin Barb, was an Arabian horse and was one of three stallions that founded the modern thoroughbred. He was named after his best-known owner, Francis Godolphin, 2nd Earl of Godolphin. The horse would later give its name to Sheikh Mohammed’s international horse racing stable.
Thomas's son Sir William sold it in 1734 to Francis, 2nd earl of Godolphin (d. s.p.m. 1766). The earl left his Stapleford estate, including Gogmagog House, to his cousin and heir male, Francis Godolphin, Lord Godolphin (d. s.p. 1785).
