19 de may. de 2024 · In 1765, until his death in 1767, the Marquess of Tavistock was in occupation. This was Francis, son of John, fourth Duke of Bedford, by his second wife, Gertrude, eldest daughter of John, first Earl Gower.

At its eastern end it opened into Charles Street, and on its north side was a narrow passage 12 feet in breadth, called Tavistock Court, which led into the Piazza (see fig. 32 on page 208).
