In 1186 Geoffrey died as well. Geoffrey could have succeeded Henry as king, if Richard wanted to remain in Aquitaine, but now that only Richard and John survived, Richard would definitely succeed him as duke Normandy, count of Anjou, count of Maine, and king of England, while also remaining duke of Aquitaine.
