Hace 1 día · From 1707 to 1721 William, Lord Villiers, who became second Earl of Jersey in 1711, lived here, and amongst the contents of the house listed in his will were two fine tapestry hangings, a Japan corner cupboard, 'two landskipps over the doors', an Indian satin quilt embroidered with gold, and cherry-coloured silk window curtains.

Hace 4 días · She married George Child Villiers, 6th Earl of Jersey, on 12 July 1841. They had five children. He died in 1859, and she married her second husband, Charles Brandling, on 12 September 1865.
Hace 2 días · In 1692 a ninety-nine years' lease in reversion was obtained by Edward Lord Villiers, created Earl of Jersey in 1697, and this interest descended with the title in the Villiers family until the expiration of the lease at the beginning of the 19th century.
