From 1851 to 1858 the house was occupied by James Archibald Stuart-Wortley, recorder of London, who held the office of solicitor-general under Lord Palmerston in 1856–57. Philip James Stanhope was a younger son of the fifth Earl of Stanhope.

6 de may. de 2024 · The Cholmondeley family has held the title of Baron Cholmondeley since 1616, and the title of Earl of Cholmondeley since 1661. The Marquess of Cholmondeley is also the Lord Great Chamberlain of England, one of the Great Officers of State, and is responsible for organizing state ceremonies such as the State Opening of Parliament.
15 de may. de 2024 · More recently, the couple's son, Lord Oliver Timothy George Cholmondeley, served as one of four Pages of Honour for King Charles III's coronation ceremony. The couple are also parents to Alexander Hugh George Cholmondeley, Earl of Rocksavage and daughter Lady Iris Marina Aline Cholmondeley.
