Hace 2 días · In early 1783, George III privately conceded "America is lost!" He reflected that the Northern colonies had developed into Britain's "successful rivals" in commercial trade and fishing. When John Adams was appointed American Minister to London in 1785, George had become resigned to the new relationship between his country and the former colonies.
