19 de may. de 2024 · David George Hogarth (born May 23, 1862, Barton-upon-Humber, Lincolnshire, Eng.—died Nov. 6, 1927, Oxford, Oxfordshire) was an English archaeologist, director of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford (1909–27), and diplomat who was associated with the excavation of several important archaeological sites.

21 de may. de 2024 · One daughter, Georgina, married George Hogarth, the Edinburgh music critic, historian, and Writer to the Signet. In 1836 the Hogarths' daughter Catherine married Charles Dickens. So Dickens' ten offspring were the great-grandchildren of George Thomson, the 'clean brushed old gentleman whose collections of traditional national songs are still sung around the world.
