The broad curriculum, coupled with Clausewitz’s extensive reading, expanded his horizons dramatically. His basic ideas regarding war and its theory were shaped at that time.

14 de may. de 2024 · At the outbreak of the Wars of Liberation (1813), he received permission from Gerhard von Scharnhorst (the Prussian chief of staff) to organize a mounted free corps (called the Lützowsche Freikorps), composed mainly of non-Prussian volunteers, to operate behind the French lines.

5 de may. de 2024 · Im Jahre 1817 erwarb der königlich hannoversche Generalfeldzeugmeister Graf Friedrich von der Decken das Schloss Ringelheim. Er reformierte gemeinsam mit Gerhard von Scharnhorst die gesamte Militärorganisation und war auch beim Sieg gegen Napoleon in Waterloo beteiligt.
