    26 de may. de 2024 · Biography. Gilbert (III) was the son of Gilbert (II) de Umfraville (d.1245) and Matilda, his wife, heiress of the earldom of Angus. Gilbert (II) inherited it by right of his wife, which passed to their son, Gilbert, upon the elder Gilbert's death. Gilbert (III) also inherited the English lordships of Prudhoe and Redesdale from his father.
