14 de may. de 2024 · King Henry VIII had several illegitimate children, but only one was ever acknowledged - his son Henry Fitzroy, who was born in secret in a quiet village in Essex.
Mary Howard also became Mary FitzRoy owing to her marriage to Henry FitzRoy, but other than that, there was no precedent for non-acknowledged bastards as well as their descendants to bear the surname FitzRoy. That said, I'm more curious where the middle name "FitzRoy" came from.

His mother Elizabeth "Bessie" Blount was sent to Blackmore when her pregnancy could no longer be hidden and gave birth there in 1519. He was very fond of his son, who he called his “worldly jewel” and the boy was the only one of his illegitimate children ever to be acknowledged by the King.
