Hace 2 días · In 1729 and 1730 the house was occupied by Henry Scott, first Earl of Deloraine, son of James Scott, Duke of Monmouth. Deloraine died on 25 December 1730. (fn. 76) He was succeeded by David Middleton, 1732–7, and he in turn in 1738 by John Hickford.
Henry Scott, 1st Earl of Deloraine (1676–1730), who married Anne Duncombe, the daughter of William Duncombe. After her death in 1720, he married Mary, the granddaughter of Col. Philip Howard. Lord Francis Scott (1678–1679), who died young. Lady Charlotte Scott (1683–1683), who died in infancy.

Hace 19 horas · This noble earl's first lady was Catherine daughter of Henry (Clary) lord Hunsdown, by whom he had issue two sons, the first William, who married Anne daughter and sole heir, to John lord St. John Bletshoe, but died in his father's life time, leaving issue Elizabeth his only daughter and heir, married to John lord Mordaunt, of Turvey, in com. Bedford, afterwards earl of Peterborough.
