Hace 2 días · Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (Franz August Karl Albert Emanuel; 26 August 1819 – 14 December 1861) was the husband of Queen Victoria. As such, he was consort of the British monarch from their marriage on 10 February 1840 until his death in 1861.

It was succeeded by the house of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, which was renamed in 1917 the house of Windsor.
Hace 6 días · Albert was born here on 26 August 1819 – for 200 years – as second son of Ernst I, Duke von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha (Saxe-Coburg and Gotha) and his wife Princess Luise von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg. He and his brother Ernst grew up here with their father, who had divorced his wife in 1826.
