  2. 9 de may. de 2024 · The letters in this calendar all concern the dispute between the monks and Archbishops Baldwin and Hubert Walter. The majority appear in the Canterbury letter collection. I have given the page numbers for these letters in Stubbs’ edition as well as folio references to the Lambeth manuscript.

  3. Hace 3 días · Archbishops Hubert Walter and Langton successively lived at the Episcopal Manor House at Lambeth. The latter repaired it, as well as the palace at Canterbury. His residence here is proved by some public acts in 1209.

These offered an account taken from the chronicler Ralph of Coggeshall of the final illness (in 1205) of Hubert Walter, archbishop of Canterbury. The primate's physician was none other than Gilbertus Anglicus, who was accompanying him when the illness struck.
