Hace 5 días · In 1361 Humphrey (VIII) de Bohun, 6th Earl of Hereford, left 40. marks for division amongst the monks. His successor Humphrey (IX), the last of the Bohuns, died in 1373. The patronage passed to his elder daughter, the wife of Thomas of Woodstock, Earl of Buckingham.
28 de may. de 2024 · His son Humphrey de Bohun declared in 1287 that the whole vill of Tilbrook belonged to his fief, and that the tenants there attended the view of frankpledge that he held at Kimbolton.
Hace 3 días · By virtue of the overlordship the earls of Hereford held courts at Farleigh every month. The last Bohun earl died in 1373, and the court (worth 100s.) was granted to the king's son Thomas of Woodstock, who had married Eleanor Bohun, one of the coheirs of her father.
Hace 4 días · The manor later reverted to the main line and the John de Bohun described as lord of the manor in 1319 and 1326 was presumably John de Bohun, Earl of Hereford (d. 1336). John's brother and heir Humphrey held the manor at his death in 1361.

10 de may. de 2024 · Swineshead continued to form part of the honour of Kimbolton (q.v.), its overlordship consequently passing in 1236 to Humphrey de Bohun, Earl of Hereford and Essex. In 1293, in consequence of the outlawry of the sub-tenant in the previous year, the manor escheated to another Earl Humphrey, who held it in demesne.
