7 de may. de 2024 · Keith succeeded to the earldom in March 1694, swore loyalty to the de facto monarchy, took up his seat in Scotland's parliament in July 1698, was sworn into the privy council in June 1701 and made a knight of the Thistle by James Francis Edward Stuart in 1705.
20 de may. de 2024 · Further actions by the Hanoverian government returned him his right to use his title and regain his estates in Great Britain but, despite brief return trips to Scotland in 1761 and 1763–64, eventually settled in Prussia for good, dying in Potsdam. His brother James Francis Edward Keith also served Prussia as a field marshal.
