9 de may. de 2024 · The 5th Earl of Cardigan was earlier an MP for Shaftesbury, Hastings and Marlborough (1754-1780) when in 1780 he was created Baron Brudenell of Deene, Northamptonshire. He served as Deputy Cofferer of the Royal Household from 1755 to 1760, as Master of the Robes to the Prince of Wales from 1758 to 1760, who ascended as King George III, and as Keeper of the Privy Purse from 1760-1811.
Hace 6 días · The manor descended with Spaxton in the Fichet, Hill, and Waldegrave families. (fn. 47) James Waldegrave, Earl Waldegrave (d. 1763), retained Perry when he sold Spaxton, but his heir, John, Earl Waldegrave, sold it in 1777 to Richard Cridland the elder of Milverton.

22 de may. de 2024 · Sir Henry Waldegrave (d. 1658), son of the last, was followed successively by his son Sir Charles (d. 1684), Charles's son Sir Henry (cr. Baron Waldegrave 1686, d. 1689), and Henry's son James (cr. Earl Waldegrave 1729). James sold the manor to Thomas Davys or Davis the younger of Milverton in 1718.
