He and his wife, Anne Meara, were a successful comedy duo in the 1960s. In later years, he also acted in projects produced and directed by their son, Ben Stiller.

In fact, Jerry Stiller also had famous offspring in real life: Jerry was the father of actor, director and producer Ben Stiller!
