26 de may. de 2024 · A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir John Leveson Gower and others: Who, at the Bar of this House, in the Name of the House of Commons, and all the Commons of England , impeached William Earl of Portland of high Crimes and Misdemeanors; and acquainted this House, "That the House of Commons will, in due Time, exhibit particular Articles against him, and make good the same."
Hace 4 días · In 1733 Lady Newhaven's brother-in-law, John Leveson-Gower, second Baron, and later first Earl Gower, took the house, probably on the occasion of his second marriage. His second wife died shortly afterwards and he married a third time in 1736, leaving the house in Lisle Street in that year.
24 de may. de 2024 · In 1695 Sir John Leveson-Gower owned property in Ketley, Coalpit Bank, Oakengates, and Wombridge. That part of Ketley township in Wombridge parish remained with the Sutherland estate until, with the Wellington part of the 4th duke's Ketley estate, it was divided and sold in 1894.
