Hace 6 días · In 1489 John Stewart, 1st Earl of Lennox, rose in revolt against the king. He had encamped at Gartalunane, on the south bank of the Forth, in the parish of Aberfoyle, but during the darkness of the night of 11 Oct. was surprised and utterly routed by Drummond. [2]

28 de may. de 2024 · In 1361 the castle passed to John Stewart of Darnley, a cousin of King James I. He served as the Constable of the Scottish Army in France, supporting Joan of Arc during the Hundred Years War. He died on the battlefield in1429 and is buried at the Cathedral in Orléans.
