26 de may. de 2024 · The end came for Wallace in August 1305. He was captured by John de Menteith, a Scottish knight in the service of Edward I, and handed over to the English. Transported to London in chains, he faced a show trial at Westminster Hall on treason charges.
29 de may. de 2024 · Sir John Menteith of Ruskie and Knapdale (c. 1275 – c. 1329) was a Scottish nobleman during the Wars of Scottish Independence. He is known for his capture of Sir William Wallace in 1305 and later joined with King Robert I of Scotland and received large land grants in Knapdale and Kintyre for his service.

Wallace’s life would not last much longer, for after he was captured he was quickly brought before Westminster Hall and was tried for his crimes.
