Hace 4 días · Maximilian Joseph inherited Charles Thedore's title of Elector of Bavaria, while William was compensated with the title of Duke in Bavaria. The form Duke in Bavaria was selected because in 1506 primogeniture had been established in the House of Wittelsbach resulting in there being only one reigning Duke of Bavaria at any given time.

Article XIX of the treaty transferred sovereignty over the Spanish Netherlands to Austria.

It was completed by the German court painter Joseph Karl Stieler between 1827 and 1855.

On our trip to see the Passion Play in Germany, we strolled around town admiring the Oberammergau painted houses or Luftmalerei for which this small Bavarian town is renowned. The famous only takes place every 10 years.
