Hace 2 días · On the morning of 4 August 1944, the Achterhuis was stormed by a group of German uniformed police (Grüne Polizei) led by SS-Oberscharführer Karl Silberbauer of the Sicherheitsdienst. The Franks, Van Pelses, and Pfeffer were taken to RSHA headquarters, where they were interrogated and held overnight.

12 de may. de 2024 · Naar Westerbork. De acht onderduikers werden na 25 maanden, op 4 augustus 1944, in hun schuilplaats ontdekt. Anne en de anderen werden gearresteerd door de Sicherheitsdienst en door Nederlandse politieagenten onder leiding van SS-Hauptscharführer Karl Silberbauer.

When interviewed, Silberbauer admitted his role, and identified Anne Frank from a photograph as one of the people arrested. Silberbauer provided a full account of events, even recalling emptying a briefcase full of papers onto the floor.
