Frank Baum 's 1900 children's fantasy novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, it was primarily directed by Victor Fleming, who left production to take over the troubled Gone with the Wind.

24 de may. de 2024 · King Vidor. February 8, 1894–November 1, 1982. Born in Galveston in 1894, King Wallis Vidor grew up with the movies. Over the course of his career, he directed both silent and sound films and worked with many of Hollywood's top stars, from Charlie Chaplin to Audrey Hepburn.
6 de may. de 2024 · While Victor Fleming directed the Technicolor Oz sequences, King Vidor was the director on the film’s black-and-white Kansas scenes. Prior to the film’s release, MGM executives were going to delete the song “ Over the Rainbow ,” believing it slowed the pace .
