22 de may. de 2024 · At the Restoration the Crown renewed the lease to the daughters of Henry, late Earl of Monmouth, Elizabeth, Mary, and Martha Carey, but in 1665 the Crown granted the castle and manors to Laurence Hyde, later created Earl of Rochester, son of the 1st Earl of Clarendon, the statesman and historian.
