28 de may. de 2024 · Magdalen College (15) Magdalen College stands on the N. side of High Street, immediately W. of the river Cherwell. The walls are of local Oxfordshire stone and the roofs are covered with slates and lead. The college was founded in 1458 by William of Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester.
25 de may. de 2024 · MAGDALEN COLLEGE History. William de Waynflete, shortly after he had become Bishop of Winchester, received licence (6 May 1448) to found a hall for the study of theology and philosophy, and to endow it with land to the value of £100 per annum.
