20 de may. de 2024 · In 1623 under Maximilian I the Bavarian dukes were invested with the electoral dignity and the duchy became the Electorate of Bavaria. His grandson Maximilian II Emanuel, Elector of Bavaria served also as Governor of the Habsburg Netherlands (1692–1706) and as Duke of Luxembourg (1712–1714).

20 de may. de 2024 · The Theatine Church in Munich, Germany, was built from 1663 to 1690, as a thanksgiving for the birth of Prince Max Emanuel, the heir of Ferdinand Maria, Elector of Bavaria and his wife, Henriette Adelaide of Savoy. It was built in the Italian high-baroque style and was designed by Agostino Barelli. The facade was only completed in 1768.

The emperor had the support of the United Provinces and England by the Treaty of The Hague (September 1701), as well as Frederick I of Prussia and a great many minor German princes.
