(Click on image to enlarge) Dozens of richly dressed nobles and high officials surrounded the Aztec emperor, Moctezuma Xocoyotzin, whose name (Moctezuma) means “Angry like a Lord”. He wore ornaments of gold, precious stone and fine feathers, and a crown of turquoise gleamed upon his head.
20 de may. de 2024 · Moctezuma (c. 1466 – June 1520), also known by a number of variant spellings including Montezuma, Moteuczoma, Motecuhzoma and referred to in full by early Nahuatl texts as Motecuhzoma Xocoyotzin, [N.B. 1] was the ninth tlatoani or ruler of Tenochtitlan, reigning from 1502 to 1520.

Although many people have implied that Moctezuma was a retiring king, more contemplative than bellicose, colonial codices point out that he was an accomplished warrior and managed to extend the tributary system rather than lose land, like Tizoc before him.
However, the account of descendance from the first wife of Motecuhzoma II Xocoyotzin is highly problematic. Motecuhzoma like other Nahua rulers had many spouses and concubines: 600 according to the anonymous Spanish commentor of the Codex Tudela and 3000 (sic!) according to Francisco Lopez de Gomara, the author who had evident vice of exaggeration.

En el proyecto se muestran varios puntos importantes de lo que fue Tenochtitlan, como Tlatelolco: La llamada Cuenca de México está rodeada por volcanes, entre los que destacan el Popocatépetl y el Iztaccíhuatl.
11 de may. de 2024 · Se atribuye a Moctezuma II o Moctezuma Xocoyotzin, el último gobernante de esta importante cultura ancestral. Actualmente se encuentra en el Museo de Etnología de Viena, Austria, como parte de la colección del emperador Maximiliano I, su valor se estima en 50 millones de dólares.
