In October 2023, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry to three US-based researchers working in the field of nanotechnology, including Tunisian Moungi Bawendi, who was born in Paris in 1961 and holds dual French and US citizenship.
