It replaced the ancient highway which until then had led from Charing Cross to St. James's Palace along a line roughly parallel with, but south of, the present street (fig. 58).

  2. Hace 5 días · The site was described as having a frontage of twenty-five feet to Pall Mall, and extending backwards a hundred and twenty-two feet to Angel Court, with King's Place, now Pall Mall Place, on the east side.

Hace 4 días · No. 104 Pall Mall was separated from the newly erected Travellers' club-house on its east side by one house, which from 1834 to 1838 was occupied by the National Gallery of Pictures. On its west side it was separated from the Carlton club-house (which was completed early in 1836) by four houses, the most westerly of which (No. 100) had been the first home of the National Gallery from 1824 to 1834.
