Hace 6 días · Peniston Lamb, 1st Viscount Melbourne, son of Sir Matthew Lamb, was born in 1748. He entered Parliament in 1768 as member for Ludgershall, and in the same year succeeded to the baronetcy. He was elevated to the peerage of Ireland in 1770 by the title of Lord Melbourne, Baron of Hilmore, and was created a viscount in 1781.
Hace 5 días · Sir Peniston Lamb, Bart., his son, was in 1770, created an Irish peer, by the title of Lord Melbourne; in 1780, he was advanced to the dignity of a Viscount. Melbourne-hall and the parsonage manor are now his property, and the hall his occasional residence. The park has been long ago converted into tillage.
