15 de may. de 2024 · Grant wrote his excellent "Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant," while dying of cancer of the throat. His family realized profits of almost $450,000. Shortly before his death, he had been placed on the retired list with the rank of general in order to ease his financial situation. Grant died at 8:06 A.M. on Thursday, July 23, 1885.
