17 de jun. de 2024 · Lord Chesterfield, Phillip Stanhope, was the second Earl of Chesterfield and something of a rogue; notorious for drinking, gambling and an exceeding wild nature. His killing of Wolly was indeed his third duel, all of which were illegal at this time.
18 de jun. de 2024 · Philip, the grandson of Sir Michael, was created, in 1616, Baron Stanhope of Shelford, and in 1628, Earl of Chesterfield. The title of Chesterfield is now enjoyed by George Augustus Frederick, a minor, who is the sixth Earl, and only son of Philip, Earl of Chesterfield, who died in 1815.
