2 de may. de 2024 · On 28 June it is 100 years ago that Gavrilo Princip assassinated the Austrian Crown Prince, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, during their visit to Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This led to the outbreak of the First World War only weeks later.

In 1901, he attended Queen Victoria's funeral wearing the uniform of the Prussian Hussars. His eldest paternal uncle, who succeeded Queen Victoria as King Edward VII, was seen embracing Charles Edward at the funeral.

8 de may. de 2024 · Fürst Ernst Georg von Hohenberg passed away on 12 January 2023. He was seventy-eight years-old. Ernst was the last surviving grandson of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and Duchess Sophie von Hohenberg.
