29 de may. de 2024 · By the late fifties, Sinatra was unhappy with the lack of artistic freedom he was experiencing at Capitol Records. He decided to take matters into his own hands, by recording his last songs for them in 1961, and after failing to acquire Verve Records, starting his own label named Reprise Records.
18 de may. de 2024 · In 1963 Reprise was sold to Warner Brothers, and, although the label continued to record Sinatra, it soon forswore 1950s swing-a-ding-dingness. If Reprise never had a distinctive sound, it did have a clear identity: West Coast hip, blue jeans, and Native American jewelry.
