27 de may. de 2024 · It was on account of burdensome tolls that merchants and tradesmen were staying away from Warwick and that Thomas de Beauchamp freed them from tolls, terrage, and stallage in 1359. (fn. 42) The earls' profits from the markets and fairs were not cut off completely, for this exemption presumably did not apply to inhabitants of the town.
