The conflicts with Germany ended in 1018 with the Peace of Bautzen accord, on favorable terms for Bolesław, retaining control of Lusatia.

In 1014 Bolesław sent his son Mieszko to Bohemia in order to form an alliance with duke Oldrich against Emperor Henry.
