18 de jun. de 2024 · The Warwick Patent. An early document of controversial origins that was used to legitimize Connecticut's legal status. Prior to 1628, Robert Rich, Earl of Warwick, became president of the Council for New England, the company authorized to develop "Northern Virginia."
Hace 2 días · He was succeeded by his eldest son Edward, who thus became the third Earl of Holland and sixth Earl of Warwick. This earl led a loose and profligate life and, as the result of a drinking bout, killed a man in a duel, was found guilty of manslaughter, but was merely dismissed with a caution.
26 de jun. de 2024 · Robert Rich, 2nd Earl of Warwick KB, PC (May/June 1587 – 19 April 1658) was an English naval officer, politician and peer who commanded the Parliamentarian navy during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. A Puritan, he was also lord of the Manor of Hunningham.
Hace 1 día · The manor descended in the Rich family until 1621, when Robert Rich, Earl of Warwick (d. 1658), conveyed it to Sir Thomas Cheeke, Kt. (fn. 35) In 1652 Sir Thomas settled it upon his second son Thomas.
