31 de may. de 2024 · The manor of SHIPTON MOYNE, although in 1463 it was said to be held by knight service and in the late 16th and early 17th centuries was assessed at 1/40 fee, continued in fact to be held by the serjeanty, but the right to exercise the office of larderer was disputed with the holder of other estates.
Hace 2 días · In 1836 Shipton Moyne became part of the Tetbury poor-law union and it remained in Tetbury rural district in 1974. About 1795, following a proclamation restricting the use of wheat, the vestry agreed to provide a substitute for wheat bread.
