23 de may. de 2024 · Following a funeral at Westminster Abbey, he was buried in the grounds of St Mildred’s Church in Whippingham, Isle of Wight, England. His wife, who survived him by 29 years, was buried by his side. Hace 4 días · St. Mildred was daughter of Merwald of Mercia, son of King Penda, and was consecrated first abbess of Minstre, a monastery founded by her mother in the Isle of Thanet on land given by her father as wergeld for the murder of his wife's brothers.

Hace 3 días · The memorial came from a larger 1932 monument in St Mildred’s church in the adjacent Bread Street Ward where Arthur Phillip was born. In 1941, that church and much of that memorial were destroyed by a parachute mine.
