  3. Thoughts on Synecdoche, New York? The first time I saw this movie I was really unsure what to make of it. Is the director a cautionary tale about people who retreat into neurotic fantasy, or he is in some sense representative of all of us as he builds and rebuilds ad infinitum his conceptual frameworks?
