  5. It’s presented as Alice writing it but it’s really Gertrude, sort of a joke. Omg I came here to be confused about this too!!! Well they do sort of day it without saying it: ‘Alice sat with the genius’s wives.’. NY Times article. The Alice B. Toklas Cookbook is a real fun read, and she actually wrote it.
