Hace 4 días · Sir Thomas Osborne, born 1631, one of the most prominent statesmen of the latter half of the seventeenth century, entered politics as a protégé of Buckingham, on whose recommendation he was made treasurer of the navy in 1668, and lord high treasurer in 1673.
