Its size, armament, and advanced design features, such as the two gun decks and the innovative sail plan, were a testament to Sweden‘s technological and military prowess.

The surface of the wood is treated with an extra layer of PEG for physical protection. In 1988, the ship is moved to the newly-built Vasa Museum. Conservation is considered complete.
