Walter FitzAlan ( c.1090 – 1177) was a twelfth-century Anglo-Norman baron who became a Scottish magnate and Steward of Scotland. [note 1] He was a younger son of Alan fitz Flaad and Avelina de Hesdin.

The crown had come to his family through a woman, and would be lost from his family through a woman.

12 de may. de 2024 · In the late 13th century, Walter Stewart, the 6th High Steward of Scotland, who fought alongside Sir William Wallace and King Robert the Bruce in the Scottish Wars of Independence, was rewarded for his loyalty to King Robert the Bruce by a marriage with Princess Marjorie Bruce, the king's daughter.
12 de may. de 2024 · Walter Stewart, 3rd High Steward of Scotland was the son of Alan fitz Walter, 2nd Great Steward of Scotland and Eva.1 He married Beatrix of Angus, daughter of Gilchrist, 4th Earl of Angus.1 He died in 1241.1

He was the son of Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland and of Marjorie Bruce, daughter of Robert the Bruce and of his first wife Isabella of Mar.
