Christian writers of the first centuries say the apostle Andrew evangelized Asia Minor, the regions along the Black Sea, until he reached the Volga. Today he is honored as a patron saint in Romania, Ukraine and Russia.

Hace 4 días · Why is it called the Saint Andrew Christmas Novena? The Christmas Novena, or the Christmas Anticipation Prayer, begins just before Advent on Saint Andrew’s feast day. We pray it for 25 days in preparation for Christ’s coming on Christmas. The novena is not for Saint Andrew’s intercession, however.

Just shy of East Sands (on the east of the town), visiting the cathedral is one of the best things to do in St Andrews if you want to explore the region’s Medieval history.
